What happens when you just say “YES”

Life at the moment for me is all about being BRAVE and saying YES.  I have a quote  by Marianne Williamson stuck on my wall at home so I can look at it each day. When those little, self doubts creep in I can bounce forward and focus on my big picture of inspiring women.  I want to share it with you.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I used to be so afraid of having a voice and being powerful.  I would rather shrink into a crowd than stand out. Today I feel like life is a count down and I do not want to leave this world without making a difference. My motto is BE BRAVE AND SAY YES. Work out how you are going to do something later.

Last week was a perfect example.  I donated a Focus on Living prize to the Mothers Day Classic –breast cancer event. They asked me if I wanted to do the inspirational speech.   I could have thought I have not done this before I won’t be any good. Instead I said “Yes love to “.. Now I am preparing to make sure this speech is memorable and I have had lots of wonderful people come into my life to help me.

On Friday I rang another Mothers Day Classic event to ask if they would like my flyers and a prize because it is great publicity for Focus on Living.   They said yes, however they needed 2500 flyers and they needed them 2 days later.  They needed to be delivered to  Ballarat, 2 hours from my home.

You may be thinking like my husband was, when I asked him what he thought, that seems like it was too hard to organize.  I said YES although I had lots of obstacles.  I was in hospital waiting to be discharged.  I did not have the artwork for those flyers at that point and did not know how I would get them to Ballarat. It worked out and I found someone to design them and print them on Friday and personally delivered them to Ballarat on Sunday.

So next time you want to achieve something important but you are not sure how in the heck to do it,  just say YES and then find a way.

Tell me about a time when you have overcome fears and doubts to achieve something important to you?

Stay tuned Next week I bring you “  EASY Steps to get children to want to  be brave and say YES
